Why dont these come correctly assembled? Ugh!
Hey Smart Strap, teach your workers how to put these together before boxing them up. You will get fewer returns. Its not rocket science, but its not easy without instruction (not included).
Barring the “some assembly required” part these seem to be strong and well built.

Packaging need instructions
I bought a pair of straps last week and tried them yesterday. The packaging has no instructions as to how to thread the strap to the handle. It was very frustrating to the point of returning them. But, as I had no other tie downs with me, I fiddled with them for about 20 minutes and finally figured them out.
Once properly assembled, the straps are strong and do not loosen. I checked them after driving 15 kilometers and they were still tight despite the boat settling into the trailer.
I used them on a 23 ft Cuddy cab weighing 4500lbs. The webbing and the hooks seem top notch and the handle has good leverage without pinching your fingers.
The manufacturer should, either, print the instructions on package or print the link to the website.
Other than that I would recommend them to other boaters.

instructions missing?
Just went to put these straps on my boat and noticed the lack of instructions. Went online to manufacturer's website and there are instructions if you follow the link for marine straps. I think the problem is that the straps were assembled wrong to begin with which caused me to try and tighten incorrectly. Once I followed the instructions I had to re-thread the strap correctly. Now the straps are very strong and secure. I'm sure these straps get returned all the time just due to the lack of instructions. link to instructions: http://www.smartstraps.com/wp-content/uploads/smartstraps-pn500-instructional-sheet.pdf

Instructions
I bought these straps to tie down my boat onto my trailer. They have no instructions were in 2 pieces and do not hold tight no matter what configuration I use. I tried YouTube and the company website and there are no instructions anywhere. Complete waste of money
